Mujeres inician “huelga de sexo” tras la revocación del derecho al aborto.

Americans women are threatening to withhold sexual relations with men in protest against the Supreme Court’s decision to abolish the constitutional right to abortion on June 24.

Since the Supreme Court overturned the historic Roe v. Wade ruling, which granted women in the United States the right to terminate a pregnancy, several states have enacted bills to ban abortion regardless of circumstances, even in cases of life-threatening situations or sexual assault.

Since then, hundreds of protests have taken place in different cities across the country. The debate over the controversial Supreme Court decision has also ignited on social media. The hashtags Abstinence and Sex Strike trended on Twitter in the United States this weekend.

Women, if you’re struggling with the #sexStrike and #abstinence, just imagine Mitch McConnell naked.

American women, stand firm. Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, we cannot risk an unwanted pregnancy. Therefore, we will not have sex with any man, including our husbands, unless we are trying to conceive. #SexStrike

Perhaps a #sexstrike (also known as #abstinence ) would help the men folk to be all in on this #womensrights issue. #RoeVWade

Maybe a #sex strike (also known as #abstinence) would help men get involved in this issue of #womensrights.

During the protests covered by the New York Post in New York City, one woman stated that she will not have sex with any man who is not willing to undergo a vasectomy, a reversible surgical procedure for male sterilization.

If you are a man who will not undergo a vasectomy, even if it’s reversible, and you’re not in the streets fighting for my rights, then you don’t deserve to have sex with me.

On the other hand, Maya Demri, a rape survivor, insisted that women must “do everything legally possible to reclaim our rights” after the Supreme Court overturned the historic ruling on abortion.

I can’t sit here and imagine what my sisters in Republican states will do if they become pregnant due to a rape and have to carry the tragedy of the worst thing that has ever happened to them for nine months. If this world thinks it can oppress women forever, then we will close our legs.
